IELTS

Academic / General Training

IELTS is accessible in two versions: Academic (for those seeking further education or professional registration) and General Training (for individuals relocating to Australia, Canada, or the United Kingdom, or seeking secondary education, training programmes, or job experience in an English-speaking environment). Both versions measure the four language abilities (hearing, reading, writing, and speaking) in a valid and accurate manner.

Fair to all

IELTS treats all test takers with the utmost fairness and respect by actively avoiding cultural bias, and accepting all standard varieties of native-speaker English, including North American, British, Australian and New Zealand English.

Test format

In less than three hours, the IELTS test assesses your abilities in hearing, reading, writing, and speaking. IELTS is divided into two categories: Academic and General Training. The Listening and Speaking sections are the same for both examinations, however the Reading and Writing sections alter depending on which test you take.

All IELTS tests include the Listening, Reading, and Writing components done on the same day, with no interruptions in between. However, the Speaking component can be done up to a week before or after the other tests. Your testing centre will provide guidance. The entire test lasts 2 hours and 45 minutes.
